Real Madrid and Manchester City will meet on Wednesday in the Champions League semi-finals after the Spanish champions suspended defender Isocco.
Isco has been suspended by the Spanish Football Federation for a second match after a red card in the 3-2 win at Sevilla in March.
Isoche has been one of the standout performers for the Spanish side and will be the first to miss out on the competition for the first time in a decade.
“We are very disappointed with Isoccos actions.
He has always been a good professional and he will not be able to play in the semi-final against City,” Madrid coach Miguel Angel Gil said.”
He is in a very serious condition and he is still undergoing tests.
It is too early to say if his match will be delayed.
The Spanish Federation must not allow him to get away with this.
It was the first red card for him in his career and he was suspended for that too.”
Isocco scored twice as Madrid beat Sevilla 4-3 on March 30, the first game in a series of five games.
He scored twice more as Madrid won 4-0 in the second leg at the Bernabeu on Sunday, his third hat-trick in six games.
The Spaniard, 32, has scored 10 goals in 26 appearances for Madrid this season and is on course to become the fourth player to score 100 goals for the club in the same campaign.
Isoccos record at Madrid, as set out by the Football Association, is: 5,000 minutes (2011-12) 7,000 (2011) 11,000 matches (2012-13) 17,000 appearances (2013-14) 20,000 goals (2014-15) 22,000 games (2015-16) 29,000 La Liga appearances (2016-17) 33,000 Real Madrid goals (2017-18) 35,000 UEFA Champions League appearances (2018-19) 38,000 points for his club (2017) 39,000 in the Copa del Rey (2018) 40,000 for Spain (2017).
