Twitch’s Twitch bot, which has been at the forefront of gaming’s social-media revolution, is also a big deal.
For one thing, the bot is now able to answer questions.
But Twitch’s leader, Chris Cantwell, is less than enthused about it.
In an interview with TechCrunch, Cantwell said that the bot “couldn’t” answer questions like “How long is a month?” because it wasn’t able to handle the volume.
“We have an API where we can answer those questions, but the Twitch API is not a chat service,” Cantwell explained.
“We can’t just have a bot that can say ‘Hi, I’m the CEO of Twitch.’
The chat service is not going to be able to provide that.”
Cantwell said the bot can handle “pretty high volume” questions, “and it can’t be able [to] do any of the things that are really important to the Twitch brand.”
“You know, you want to ask them what’s the average viewership for a game?
Or what’s your average subscriber count?
It can be a really complicated question and the bot isn’t very good at answering that.”
That’s not to say the chat bot isn, in fact, a bad thing.
It’s more than capable of doing a lot of things, including getting answers to questions like those, according to Cantwell.
“It’s kind of the same thing as the social media platform,” he said.
“If you are a company that’s really focused on your social-sphere, you can have a chat bot that is able to say, ‘Hey, I have this service that will give me that info, and it can also do other things like answering questions about the company that I am affiliated with.'”
That’s all well and good, but it’s hard to argue that chatbots are a bad product when Twitch has the best bot out there right now.
The company recently released a bot called Twitch Bot, which can answer questions about Twitch’s platform.
It has more than 2.5 million subscribers, and is built by Microsoft, which also owns Twitch.
Microsoft is behind the chatbots.
And while it’s not exactly clear what it plans to do with them, Cantwill said that it will use Twitch’s bot to answer other questions, including ones about games.
The chatbots could be used for a variety of things: providing answers to the kinds of questions Cantwell and other chatbots asked, such as “How much is the average game player worth?”
The chatbot isn’t the only big-name Twitch has acquired in recent months.
It acquired two other companies this year.
Twitch is reportedly planning to buy a team of engineers in an attempt to make the company more accessible.
In the meantime, Cantbuts voice and that of Twitch’s CEO are both heard by millions of viewers every day.
