A Patriots’ fan has a message for the new players on the team.
Rob Gronkowski/Getty Images”Be a part [of] a great group, and be a good teammate.
That’s all you can ask of yourselves, you just have to go out there and be yourself and have fun and be in that mindset, and then come back to it after the game,” tight end Dwayne Allen told the New York Post.”
It’s a really great opportunity, and it’s a good chance for you guys to show what you can do.”
The Patriots have had a tumultuous offseason, as they traded away star wide receiver Brandon LaFell in free agency and then traded cornerback Malcolm Butler to the Jacksonville Jaguars.
But while the Patriots have made a lot of moves to make the team competitive again, there are still some concerns about the team’s young core.
Allen said he has been in contact with the team since the trade, but was hesitant to say whether he was comfortable with the decision.
“I’m not going to say yes or no, because we all get to make our own decisions, but I think you guys need to take your own decisions.
You guys all need to make yours, and if it’s the right decision, I’m not here to make you guys do something.
It’s your decision, so just take it and move on,” Allen said.”
You have to respect each other and know when you’re on the same page, and when you don’t, you’re not going anywhere.
You’re just going to continue to play football and be healthy and do what we have to do.”
